Summary
As of 2021 India committed to intensifying climate measures in a strategy to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070. While this long-term commitment marks a significant shift in climate goals, there is little discussion of the need for a holistic climate change framework legislation in India. There is, instead, a lack of specificity about how the country’s ambitious goals will be actualized.
