Summary

The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, brokered by the US under Donald Trump’s administration, has collapsed, leading to renewed violence. Israel has resumed bombing Gaza, resulting in hundreds of deaths and bringing the total to over 50,000 since the attacks began. The destruction of infrastructure, including schools and hospitals, continues, with 208 journalists and medical personnel killed. The US supports Israel’s actions, providing $12 billion in military sales and $4 billion in emergency aid. Meanwhile, the US is also bombing Yemen in response to the Houthi’s support for Gaza and their blockade of the Red Sea.

The conflict is escalating, with Israel expanding into Syria and Lebanon, and threatening Iran. Iran has been warned by the US to dismantle its nuclear program or face consequences, despite the US Intelligence Threat Assessment confirming Iran is not building a nuclear weapon. Arab states are anxious about potential forced exodus of Palestinians into their territories, but remain subject to US pressure. The situation is volatile, with risks of a larger conflict, including potential war with Iran, which could have significant global economic consequences due to Iran’s role as a major oil supplier
