Summary
In the 21st century, Indian startups are facing various competitions while integrating Blockchain technology (BCT) with the supply chain (SC). In the current scenario, Indian startups are ready to take contracts from multinational companies at any cost without knowing the ground reality, and real interruptions occurred at the time of integration of BCT with the traditional supply chain (TSC). SC-based multinational organizations never compromise on customer feedback, product quality, late delivery, etc. Without knowing the real facts, to achieve growth and greediness of listing in Fortune firms, these startups are facing real-life interruptions due to their excitement and overconfidence. Every new emerging technology has drawbacks, and Indian startups are ignoring these serious drawbacks consequently, these startups are shutting down. Hence, the authors considered the real-time challenges that occurred while integrating BCT with TSC and built up a hierarchy model based on the number of interruptions and divided these interruptions into four zones, viz. autonomous, driver, dependence, and linkages. ISM and MICMAC approaches provide contextual relationship based structural model to identify the influential BCT interruptions while integrating with TSC. This research approach explores the significance of BCT interruption and motivates making strategy before integrating BCT with TSC. This research work will also help academicians and practitioners to work on BCT interruptions, hindrances, and any technological barriers that occurred during the mapping of BCT in business and try to resolve these interruptions based on their significance and priority before the implementation of BCT in TSC. Further, this study reveals the interesting interrelationship of BCT interruptions which are necessary theoretically and practically for further dissemination of BCT in TSC. It also provides the platform for theoretical observations at micro-level for understanding BCT implementation in TSC.
