The article examines the US–Israel war on Iran as an escalating regional conflict with wider geopolitical, economic and humanitarian consequences. It analyses Iran’s strategic response through decentralised defence, attacks on US military bases, and control of the Strait of Hormuz, highlighting the resulting disruption to global energy and financial markets. The article argues that the conflict reflects broader struggles over oil, maritime routes, US influence, Israel’s regional position and the emerging multipolar order. It also examines the positions of Russia, China, Gulf countries and India, while emphasising Iran’s pursuit of sovereignty, strategic autonomy and long-term security guarantees.
