Summary

It is said that a racist will never admit to their racism. In the face of such a refusal, a crucial methodological consideration, while enquiring about racism, could be to highlight the instances where racist experiences were felt (Memmi, 2000).

The Tablighi Jamaat controversy in Assam is one such case which brings to light the racist experiences of Muslims in the state.
