Summary

Education plays a vital role in shaping our minds; its purpose is not only to gain knowledge but rather to actively engage students in the learning process. It is a process that helps young minds to successfully collaborate with peers and develop critical, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. These skills help them to learn the mechanism to deal with the unforeseen challenges of life. Integration of virtual reality has witnessed such development of skills and knowledge among students, resulting in transforming students into life-long learners.

Post-pandemic integration of virtual reality has gained speed within many sectors, with one such sector being the education sector. Unlike the conventional teaching learning process, virtual reality has the potential to engage students in the learning process and enhance their thinking and imagining capacities. This chapter aims to address the five E’s, namely Experience, Empower, Engagement, Empathy and Embodiment, which are key elements of student engagement due to increasing virtual reality technologies, as the fundamental features of virtual reality help to incorporate these among students.
